1.What you pay
Registering for a paid tournament involves two separate amounts:
- Tournament Entry Amount — the amount associated with participation in the tournament.
- Platform Fee — Project Oche's charge for providing, operating and facilitating the Platform and tournament service. It is added on top of the Tournament Entry Amount.
Total Registration Price = Tournament Entry Amount + Platform Fee. Worked example: a Tournament Entry Amount of €10.00 plus a Platform Fee of €1.50 gives a Total Registration Price of €11.50.
The Platform Fee is never taken out of the Tournament Entry Amount, and the Tournament Entry Amount is never described as including the Platform Fee.
2.Price transparency
The Total Registration Price is the price presented as the cost of joining a paid tournament. Wherever the cost of joining is displayed — tournament listings, the tournament page, the registration dialog and checkout — the Total Registration Price is shown as the headline amount, with the Tournament Entry Amount and Platform Fee shown as a breakdown beneath it.
Before you confirm, the checkout shows the tournament name, the scheduled start, the Division where relevant, the Tournament Entry Amount, the Platform Fee, the Total Registration Price, the published prize structure or a link to it, and a summary of the cancellation rules.
The confirmation button states the amount you are about to pay. No mandatory charge is added after that point.
Once a tournament is published and open for registration, the Tournament Entry Amount, the Platform Fee basis and the published prize structure are locked. They will not be changed for players who have already registered.
The VAT and accounting treatment of the Tournament Entry Amount and the Platform Fee is being confirmed with our accountant. Whatever that treatment turns out to be, the Total Registration Price shown to you is the full mandatory amount you are required to pay.
3.Payment processing
Real-money payment processing is not yet enabled. Registrations in the current build are simulated for testing and no money is taken. When real-money payments are enabled, they will be processed through a regulated payment service provider; the applicable provider and any relevant privacy information will be published before the first real-money tournament.
Because no real-money payment provider is connected, the current build does not collect or store card details or other payment credentials.
Project Oche does not operate a wallet, stored balance, vault or player funds account. Prize records and payout status shown in your account are entitlement and status records, not money held on your behalf.
4.Registration payment states
Each registration carries a payment state, which will apply in the same way once real-money payments are enabled:
- Paid — your entry is confirmed and appears in your account as registered or waitlisted.
- Pending — your place is not secured until the payment is confirmed. If confirmation does not arrive in time, the entry may be released.
- Failed — no place is created. You can try again while registration is still open and capacity remains.
- Refunded or cancelled — the registration has been reversed under this policy.
If you are ever charged twice for the same registration once real-money payments are enabled, tell us and we will refund the duplicate in full to the original payment method.
5.Waitlist
A waitlist entry is not a guaranteed place. If your waitlist entry is never promoted to a confirmed place, you will not ultimately be charged for that place; where funds have already been captured, you receive a full refund of the Total Registration Price.
If you are promoted from the waitlist less than 24 hours before the start and do not want the place, tell us before the tournament begins and we will refund the Total Registration Price in full.
6.Cancellation and refund rules
The following rules apply to every paid tournament:
- More than 24 hours before the scheduled tournament start — you may cancel your registration and receive a full refund of the Total Registration Price, including the Platform Fee.
- Less than 24 hours before the scheduled start — ordinarily no voluntary refund is given.
- Promoted from the waitlist less than 24 hours before the start — if you decline the place before the tournament begins, you receive a full refund of the Total Registration Price.
- Project Oche cancels the tournament — you receive a full refund of the Total Registration Price.
- Project Oche materially changes the date or scheduled start time — you may accept the change or request a full refund of the Total Registration Price.
- No-show — ordinarily no refund is given.
- Voluntarily abandoning a tournament after it has started — ordinarily no refund is given.
- Disqualification for cheating, fraud, collusion or serious rule violation — ordinarily no refund is given, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
7.If we cancel, change or cannot complete a tournament
- We cancel the tournament — you receive a full refund of the Total Registration Price.
- We materially change the date or scheduled start time — you may accept the changed tournament or request a full refund of the Total Registration Price.
- A material technical failure on our side makes fair completion impossible — we may offer an appropriate remedy such as rescheduling, a rematch, a replacement entry or a refund, depending on the circumstances.
If a tournament cannot be completed fairly after it has started, Project Oche will determine an appropriate remedy based on the circumstances. This may include continuation at a later time, rescheduling, a rematch, a replacement entry, a full or partial refund, or prize allocation only where a valid final ranking can be established objectively and fairly from completed play. Prize money is not automatically awarded from an incomplete bracket.
8.Statutory consumer rights
This policy is our commercial refund policy. It does not replace mandatory consumer rights that apply to you under the law of your country of residence in the EU/EEA.
Services provided on a specific date or during a specific period are treated differently from ordinary online purchases under EU consumer rules. The precise treatment of fixed-date tournament services, including how any statutory withdrawal right applies, is being confirmed with legal advisers before real-money launch and this section will be finalised at that point. Until then we make no statement that a statutory withdrawal right is excluded.
9.How refunds will be made
Refund handling described here applies once real-money payments are enabled; in the current build no money is taken, so no refund is required.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method used for the registration. We do not refund to a different person, card or account except where the original method is genuinely unavailable and we can verify the recipient.
We will process an approved refund promptly after approving it. The time it then takes to appear depends on the payment provider and your bank, and is outside our control. Expected processing times will be published before the first real-money tournament.
Where a refund covers only part of a registration, the calculation is shown in the confirmation we send you.
10.Chargebacks and fraudulent payments
If something is wrong with a payment once real-money payments are enabled, please contact us at info@projectoche.com first — we can usually resolve it faster than a chargeback.
Where a chargeback is raised, we may suspend registration and payouts on the account until the case is resolved, and we will provide the relevant tournament, entry and payment records for the claim.
Payments we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, or made with a payment method the account holder is not entitled to use, may be reversed and the account restricted.
